Our avatars could dress in digital replicas of traditional fashion. But when the possibilities in the metaverse are endless, why should we limit our creative expression to what we already know?
Code Couture is a digital fashion initiative rethinking digital fashion and digital expression.
Our breakthrough approach is to use generative code, in order to create an iconic look and feel that is unattainable using more traditional approaches like 3D modeling.
This allows our fashion to both exist standalone, and in future, will allow our fashion to be used on any platform.
Furthermore, this choice showcases technological artistry. By exclusively using code to generate these pieces, we aim to showcase the beauty of computer algorithms and their similarities to patterns found in nature.
While existing digital fashion offers unique artistry, it often feels exclusive and accessible only to an elite group. Users can buy as they would with traditional fashion, but they can’t explore and co-create, especially if they have no experience with 3D design or coding.
We need more freedom of expression in the digital world.
